Artist: Hadda Brooks
Album: Femme Fatale
Genre: Rhythm & Blues
Released: 2006
Despite the fact that we have several compilations of “The First Lady Of Modern”s 1940s recordings in the catalogue, we’ve never previously had the right format in which to reissue this specially-recorded 10 tracker, which Hadda cut in 1957 as a Crown album release. It contains a lovely mixture of re-cuts of some of Hadda’s earlier Modern vocal successes, plus a number of songs of similar vintage that she just never got round to recording before these sessions. And until Hadda’s acclaimed comeback in the 1990s, it was the only way the listener could hear the former Miss Hopgood in Hi-Fi. This gorgeous set has been out of circulation for more than forty years, and it’s a pleasure to welcome it back into catalogue. OK, so it’s not going to cost you 98 cents plus tax any more, but at less than the price of your average round of drinks it’s still a deal and a half, not to mention both a ‘buyer’ and a ‘keeper’.

Do you know why it is nearly impossible to read your blog ? I keep getting ads to download opera. I must have tried your URL 30 times. I was always taken to opera download. Tried your URL in Edge and finally after maybe 20 times I got the pop up to stop so I could leave you a message. Have others mentioned this problem to you ? I've read on other blogs of people unable to access your new URL as well. Your blog is not the only one I've noticed this problem. Why your blog and some other blogs on blogspot.com, but not other blogspot.coms ? Very annoying and sad. I used to visit your blog regularly.
